Robbie Laughlin - Knitwear Designer - In Store Aug 24/19

Between 2 Lakes is very excited to welcome Robbie Laughlin to our store on Aug 24/19. In the morning from 10:00am - 12:00pm, he will be talking about his book. In the afternoon he will be teaching a Punch Needle class. More about the class in another post.

Come meet self-published Toronto author Robbie Laughlin and see his first book Architexture: Shape and Surface. This collection of 12 knitting patterns was designed for and inspired by the community of Canadian dyers, farmers, and shops he’s grown to love over the years, and features a collection of interesting textures and shapes. Each pattern is crafted to showcase the beauty of the yarn, while providing an exploration into texture and creative shaping.

Meet Robbie, hear about his inspiration, and get your book signed and try on some of his samples as part of what’s sure to be an amazing and fun morning.

Robbie Laughlin is a knitwear designer living in Toronto, Ontario. He has designed patterns for Estelle Yarns, Eweknit, Rib Magazine, and many other sources.

We are excited to invite inspired knitters to a class at Between 2 Lakes with designer Kitty Bryan on Friday June 7/19. Kitty is returning to Fenelon Falls for the second year to teach at the Kawartha Yarn and Fibre Festival on June 8/19. She is also pleased to return to the store the day before to present her class “Knitting Plaid”. For those who may remember, last year her class at the store was “Knitting with Silk”

Do you love plaid but believe it is a woven fabric? Are you intrigued by a tartan due to its family connection or its beauty? This class will give you the tools to both knit and design your own tartans - Scottish or not.

Once students understand the construction of a knitted tartan, the class will learn to knit a Clan MacLeod Inspired Cowl.

Cost is $40.00 plus materials plus HST.

Book early to reserve your spot - the class is limited to 8 students.

Further details will follow.
